2024 Tertiary Education Study Assistance Scheme (TESAS)

Tertiary Education Study Assistance Scheme (TESAS)

The Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST) is pleased to officially announce the availability of the Government of Papua New Guinea (GoPNG) Scholarship - Tertiary Education Study Assistance Scheme (TESAS) - for the academic year 2024. This announcement encompasses the comprehensive listing of 2024 New Intakes and Continuing Students enrolled in all recognized Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including Universities and Colleges.

It is imperative for continuing students not featured on the published list to consult their respective HEIs to confirm their status for the 2024 academic year. Additionally, students who were self-sponsored in the previous year and have been awarded a scholarship for the current year are advised to check their nearest Air Niugini Office for their travel itinerary. For those who do not find their name on the travel plan, contacting DHERST to provide travel information is recommended. Travel arrangements will strictly adhere to the destinations provided by respective HEIs in the previous year.

As a demonstration of confidence and with the objective of relieving the financial burden on parents regarding school fees, and to facilitate a seamless commencement of the 2024 Academic Year for HEIs, the GoPNG, through DHERST, has settled all outstanding 2023 TESAS arrears owed to all HEIs.

Furthermore, disbursements for TESAS payments for Semester 1, 2024, are scheduled to be processed soon after registration is completed, and lists are compiled and submitted to DHERST. It is crucial to note that Semester 2, 2024 TESAS payments are contingent upon HEIs providing Semester 2 Registration lists and, importantly, the requisite acquittals for Semester 1, 2024.

Students are strongly encouraged to concentrate on their studies.

Congratulations on your hard work and dedication. We extend our best wishes for success in your studies throughout this academic year.
