CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
The Improved TVET for Employment Project is a pillar investment project by the Government of Papua New Guinea (GoPNG). The project will be funded by the Asian Development Bank, Government of PNG and Government of Australia through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.The project intends to strengthen PNG’s Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sub-sector in line with the recent reform in the Higher and Technical Education sector.
Key project activities include strengthening the capacity and management of 10 TVET colleges, providing high-quality TVET teacher training, developing a curriculum for demand-driven TVET programs, upgrading teaching facilities at TVET colleges to be gender responsive to increase female students access to TVET, and strengthening national TVET. The project will focus on building competencies and skills currently lacking in Construction Trades and Agriculture sector.
This project will be implemented in the following 10 TVET Colleges: Port Moresby Technical College, Kiunga TVET Centre, Highlands Agriculture College, Mt. Hagen Technical College, Don Bosco Technical College (Simbu), Goroka Technical College, Madang Technical College, National Polytechnic Institute (Lae), West New Britain Technical College and Bougainville Technical College.
GoPNG - through the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST) as the lead implementing agency is inviting suitable candidates to submit Expressions of Interest for the following:

As part of DHERST’s cooperation with the Papua New Guinea Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, we are sharing the Norway-Pacific Ocean-Climate Scholarship Programme (N-POC). The N-POC offers full 3-year PhD scholarship opportunities to students from all member countries of the University of South Pacific, as well as Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, and Papua New Guinea. The scholarship is now open for applications for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme at the University of the South Pacific (USP) for the academic year 2023 under the bi-institutional PhD degree agreement between USP and the University of Bergen (UiB), Norway. Potential candidates are invited to submit their applications by 12 March 2023.
